residence, country house, Tudor (architecture), historic remains

Estate home designed c. 1927 in the Tudor style by Charles L. Bowman for Charles L. Ohrstrom, an investment banker. The home features 16th/17th century English oak linen-fold panel walls, a great hall/living room with 40’ vaulted ceiling, museum quality stained-glass windows, quarter-sawn oak floors, and a stone rathskeller. The previous owner, Mel Gibson, renamed it "Wayne Manor" and made it his Connecticut home for 15 years.

Additionally, it has Cotswold-Style stone cottage outbuilding and a stable complex, and a greenhouse with cabin. The stable combines stalls and living quarters with a horse paddock.
