A true Kärdla citizen travels on a bicycle or on foot; the city is perfect for it – there are no hills and the cars do not disturb the cyclists and pedestrians. The most beautiful spots in Kärdla are the beach park behind Hiiumaa Museum or the Long House, city park, and the co-called wool-factory era Kärdla, where you can admire small wooden houses that are characteristic of Kärdla and surrounded by beautiful gardens, as well as the artesian wells around Pika and Aia streets. Unique cellars and Kärdla bridges or trumms catch your eye.
Be sure to stop by the renovated fire station, or tourism information centre, as well as the newest harbour in Hiiu County.
