Modern Kasba or Amati is a village in West Bengal, India. It is identified with medieval Ramavati, a capital city of the Pala kings of Bengal. Ramavati was still a minor administrative center in the Mughal period. The archaeological remains are spread over a large area of some 16 square km, extending beyond the bounds of the modern village.
