Storage tank 304 is vaguely onion shaped, with a pointed top and broad base.
A carry-over tradition from when Union Oil operated this refinery, the tank is painted, by the refinery personnel, with a jack-o-lantern face every Halloween to become the great pumpkin.

  • When I lived in the area the refinery sponsored a contest at a local grade school where children drew pumpkin faces they would like to see on the tank and the winner's image would be used.
