BEST 3D THEATRE IN TOWN
-----------------------
Cinemark IMAX 3D Theatres have more than 1,000 stadium-style seats facing an eight story screen. Each member of the audience must wear polarized "glasses" which channel only the right-eye image to the right eye and only left-eye images to the left eye. With a 6 Channel digital sound system the immersive experience for the viewer is nothing short of awesome. The Best Seat In Town, really!
The IMAX 3D Camera records images on two 65 mm wide strips, one for each eye, and advances the film strips one frame (15 perforations) for each shot at variable rates, to a maximum of 48 frames per second, resulting in high resolution images characteristic of the wide field of view of IMAX 3D presentations.
The 3D projection system uses a carefully aligned polarizing filter in front of each "eye" of the projector (with the two eyes having a different alignment), and have the audience wear polarized glasses, each lens aligned carefully to the respective eye of the projector. This allows excellent alignment and picture steadiness.
IMAX uses the largest film frame in motion picture history - ten times the size of a conventional 35mm frame and three times larger than a normal 70mm movie frame. The sheer size of the film frame combined with the unique projection technology, is the key to the extraordinary sharpness and clarity of IMAX films.
