  • This place is famous for discovering Bundh Breeding,a technique to produce fish seed artificially in confined water.Prior to it whole world did not know that fish can breed out of river (flowing water).As per legend existing among the fish breeders of West Bengal,the bundh breeding of Indian Major Carps (rohu, katla, mrigella, kalbasu)was first noticed in 1882 by a private Pisciculturist of Simlapal named "MANU TELI",who successfully collected spawn from a bundh at simlapal.Later on in the year 1902 the practice of collection of fish eggs from bundh commercially started in Simlapal.But the actual inventor of Bundh breeding is Sri Gokul Chandra Saha , a babu of Simlapal, who breed fishes for the first time at simlapal in the year 1926 and shows the world that artificially fish seed can be produced in a bundh. So,if we tell about the importance of Simlapal in the world History then it is only the discovering of artifcial breeding of fishes ,nothing so important beyond this.

One side covered with sweet SHILALBATI & other side is Forest. If you want to see Natural Seen. So you must go Simlapal. Here is a Police Station, B.D.O Office, Community Hall, Panchayat Office, Forest Office, Health Centre, Two High School One for Girls & One for Both, Local Party Office & many more Govt. Offices & N.G.O's . Simlapal is famous for "Ganga Mela" the mela starting on "Poush Sankranti" which location is side of Shilabati near Anandapur Village. The village is covered with 'Utkal'.
