Constitutional Club, now R.A.O.B. Hall, 1911 by J Cawley. A subsidence-liftable timber framed building with plaster panels; grey slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Small frame; recessed porch, right, has cambered oak lintel, with 2 mullioned and transomed casements left. Upper storey has central balcony with balustrade under jettied gable on brackets with ornate bressumer, bargeboards and finial; rounded oriel window to each side of balcony, with sidelights. All windows are ornately leaded. Quadrant braces in panels. End gables have moulded beams. Interior: Hall with dado panelling.

Probably the best preserved example of Cawley's ornate timber framed subsidence-liftable buildings.
