Tomb of Antonio Canova is a very unusual monument to an artist who was obviously greatly revered by so many, and who is probably still held in very high esteem by Venetians and others. It is a rather beautifully and cleverly constructed tomb and is worth a visit. It is located in the Basilica dei Frari. Apparently Antonio Canova was a Freemason and the pyramid shape of his tomb is a freemason symbol, easily recognised by those 'in the know'. The little sculptures around the tomb have a particular meaning for the freemasons.
The place is located in Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari
