archaeological site, mound, invisible, ringfort
The fortified mound (rath means ring-fort) that gave its name to nearby Rathvilly (Raith Bile, to the east), "Rathvilly Moat" has lost much of its height and area to cultivation. There are no visible remains other than the earthworks, and the site is overgrown with trees.
