The natural reserve around Stora Bolleberget ("The Big Bolle-Mountain", the ski resort is located in the nearby "Small Bolle-Mountain") and the Blistermyra Bog just south of the mountain. The northen face of the mountain is very steep and cliffy and is home to the red-listed species Artomyces Pyxidatus, Phellinus nigrolimitatus and Fomitopsis rosea.
