park, botanical garden
You will find greenery and flowering plants in the Botanical Gardens all year round. In Tropiska växthuset (the Tropical Greenhouse), Uppsala's only rainforest, there are banana trees, coffee bushes and orchids, but also plants from deserts and arid areas. Orangeriet (the Orangery) houses cacti, Linnaeus's bay trees, fig trees and olive trees. Brilliantly coloured summer flowers, trees, shrubs and aromatic plants from around the world invite you to stroll through the gardens. Welcome to Uppsala University's botanical gardens, where research, teaching and the conservation of biological diversity go hand-in-hand with beauty, recreation and education.
