  • I was born in Shamsabad in 1929. My father was a lawyer there. In those days, there used to be many courts of Hononry Magistrates in Shamsabad. Nawab Syed Md. Sultan (Khan Bahadur) was one such Hon. Magistrate. Nawab Md. Sultan had two sons, Nawab Md. Murtaza (continued to reside in Shamsabad), and Nawab Md. Mujtaba who settled in Lucknow. The other Nawabs were Iqbal Bahadur, Safdar Sultan and Haider Sultan. There were all related and lived in their houses in a Mohalla called Godam. Nawab Iqbal Bahadur had opened a small Anglo Vernacular School in which I studied for two years (Class IV and V). Shri Uma Shankar Saxena was the headmaster and Shri Md. Hafiz was the second master of the school. A Primary School called Rifahe Aam Madarsa was opened by my father, late Shri Rajjan Lal Chaudhry. Its headmaster was Maulvi Niaz Husain.
  • Mohalla Godam in Shamsabad was my home for a short while whilst I was a child. My maternal grandparents lived there too, as did my mother Mehr Ara Husain (nee Zaidi).

  • I have family connection from Shamsabad. I didn't study there but my father Prof J.S. Gupta of Agra College was born there. My elder brother and one of the eldest sister were also born there. Our joint families still run "HAAT" (where you sell animals). Lot of thing have changed now although still lot to be done to improve day to day life. rahul-Melbourne-Australia

  • Shamsabad is an ancient town older than Kaimganj and Farrukhabad. It is a good place to live there.Syed Shamim Abbas Naqvi was born there and planning to live there, at present he is residing in Lucknow with their parents.

  • My pa seem had live in Shamsabad too in his young days ... My pa mother 's name was Baitam Begum and my pa 's full name was Azizullah Khan son of Abdul Wahid Khan..... My late pa told us he came from Nawada, Mirzapur...In early 1900's and in groups of village members. They sailed and going out of India to Singapore...then sailed to Borneo.....this happend before India Indepandent day .....He died in Sarawak, Borneo (Malaysia) in 1975 at the age of 75. ....my poor pa need me to try to look for the family....InshaAllah.   • I am proud to be born in Shamsabad. I also attended A V Inter college Shamsabad from 1972 to 1976. My Principal nawab S M Musavi was a nice and humble person. I do miss my those day as i was liked by my all teachers & lacturers. -- R Naresh Saini
