 clock tower, interesting place

This clock was built in 1986 when Voronezh was preparing to its 400-year celebration. This is the only musical clock in the city. It was built by the father and his son; Vasily and Anatoly Strukov. They still look after it.
In 1992 the clock was given a plastic face with LED lights to highlight it at night, instead of the alluminium one which was installed originally. The clock has 4x40 Watt speakers and a microprocessor with pre-installed melodies. There is a special tune which plays each 30 minutes and at the beginning of each hour. Each bang correspons to one hour. The melodies change on celebrations. The clock can function during blackouts because it has reserve batteries enough for 24 hours.
