Grogan's Castle Hotel is a privately owned small hotel, situated in the beautiful Taita Taveta County. We offer spacious en suite bedrooms, an excellent kitchen, great views, at reasonable prices. By road it is a five hour drive from Nairobi, turning south at Voi. From the coast, it can be reached through Tsavo West National Park exiting at the Lake Jipe Park gate.There is a dirt airstrip 1,200 meters in length adjacent to the Castle. Only a 50 minute drive from the Tanzania side from Moshi and about two hours from Arusha. The main attraction is the peaceful and quiet surrounding. Situated on top of a small hill you can sit for hours looking down on Africa. Taita is one of the richest regions in the country, and blessed with spectacular scenery. Grogan’s Castle is a trip back in time, with the comfort of today. “Part monastery, part Moorish fort and part hacienda it is approached via a road which snakes its way up the hill and deposit its visitors at the foot of broad steps leading to an arch in which wrought-iron entrance gates are set. Beyond the gates is a central courtyard with a fountain and a sweet smelling beautiful pink Frangipani.”
