Park «Tyufeleva Roscha» («ZIL») (Moscow)

Russia / Moscow / Moscow
 park, 2018 construction

Opened in July 2018.
Total green area: 8.63 hectares.
Created by renowned landscape designer and urbanist Jerry Van Eyck.

The park is named after the historical area of the same name, which was located south of the Simonov Monastery, founded in the 14th century. The original grove was part of an ancient forest composed of pines and spruces. The exact origin of the name «Tyufeleva Roscha» (also known as Tyukhaleva or Tyukholeva) remains uncertain.

The park features a 3,000 m² pond resembling a winding river. Walking paths and cycling routes are laid along its banks.

Previously, the site housed the main gray iron foundry (GLTSCh) No. 3, Foundry No. 2, and storage facilities. The cleared area was filled with new soil, and the terrain was regraded.

The main attraction of the park is a 1,300-meter-long pergola covered in greenery. Its shape resembles a conveyor chain, referencing the site's industrial history as part of the Likhachev Automobile Plant.

The park's concept is based on the idea of public art — integrating art into urban space. It is the only green zone created on the site of a former industrial enterprise.
