Near Rannu, in a beautiful park, is the Tamme estate, which became famous in connection with the peasant unrest during the Northern War. The Tamme windmill, a Dutch-style windmill with a rotating tent (built in 1875-1899), standing on a high bank, served as a landmark for fishermen for decades. Folk legend has it that there is a Swedish burial place near the Tamme windmill.
