Established in 1872 by Caspar Friedrich Hausmann; opened in this building as Hausmann in 1895. Professor Conrad Wilhelm Röntgen installed the first X-ray machine in Switzerland at Hausmann in this building (11 Market Alley) in 1897! The pharmacy was officially opened as Pike Pharmacy in 1911. The pharmacy was expanded in 1964 when a portion of the 9 Market Alley property was purchased. This building was renovated and facelifted between 1985-1988.

Pike Pharmacy is part of the health care company group Hausmann AG since 1899.
