From 1906 to 1989, three generations of the Beck family led the bakeries

On January 1, 1990, Hansjörg and Monika A.Gmür took over the ownerships of Beck Beck Pastry & Café (Konditorei-Café Beck Beck), located at 18 Multer Alley in St. Gallen

Two years later, the bakery was renovated and in 1992, the company moved to the new production facilities at 26 Industry Street in Wittenbach.

Hansjörg and Monika A. Gmür led the business for over 20 years at Multer Alley. After the owner of the shop died, the descendants announced other plans for this property, the search for a new place for Beck Beck began.

This was fortunately found in the immediate vicinity, so the Beck Beck tradition can be continued. After a multi-month reconstruction phase of the new rooms: 1 Weber Alley, the location for the bakery and pastry shop and 2 Bank Alley, the location for the café, a new era for the Bakery. Pastry Shop & Café Beck Beck begins.

The café is named after the new name Vivendi by Beck Beck. Modus Vivendi (Latin) means a kind of peaceful coexistence. The room is a friendly meeting place for guests of all ages and origin.

May the Beck Beck tradition continue for a long time to come.

Currently, Beck Beck has three locations in St. Gallen and two in Wittenbach. All of the ingredients are organic.
