It used to have a revolving restaurant atop the tower, but hasn't for more than a decade. Instead, it has the usual Holiday Inn trappings - a family restaurant, a Holidome, and other such things. Technically the only hotel on the beach in Destin - everything else is condos. How sad is that? Nice, nice people working there. The best time to stay there is in August and September, but that's the best time to visit Destin in general.
