Opened in December 12, 1904, the original library locations were located first at the offices of Attorney Justus Rathbone on Broad Street in 1825, then at Franklin Square in 1842, in the City Hall on Cornelia Street in 1856, and at the former Utica School District administration building on Elizabeth Street in 1877.
