Chahuk

Azerbaijan / Naxcivan /
place with historical importance, fortification, bronze age

Chahuk (Armenian: Ճահուկ) Medieval Armenian fortress. Center of eponymous gavar (district) of Syunik ashkhar (province) of Armenian kingdom. In 1920 the territory where this fortress is located was included in Azerbaijani SSR by Bolsheviks. The creators of the modern Azerbaijani historians prefer Chalhankala name for this medieval Armenian fortress (of course to 11-13 centuries in this region were not Turkic population).

Since 1950 Azerbaijani historians Ziya Bunyadov and Farida Mammadova began work on falsifying the history of the region by removing everything Armenian ( ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Фальсификация_истории_в_Азербайджане ), as well as appropriating the cultural heritage of the Persians and Georgians to Azerbaijanis. This opened up a pandora's box that doesn't close but expands. Today, two state apparatus are working hard on falsifying history: Turkey and Azerbaijan. Some "historians" in the US, UK and a number of other countries assisting them. The falsification of history also finds widespread financial support from a number of financial tycoons around the world who have their own morals based on their interests.
