Ruse is the largest Bulgarian port on the Danube River. It is built on terraces above the Danube. Besides the Bridge of Friendship( built 1952-1954), which makes international connection with Bulgaria easier, many rail lines, 10 railway stations and several highways have been built which connect it with all large cities in the country.
