84th Gi'vati Infantry Brigade Desert Training Camp

The Givati Brigade (Hebrew: חֲטִיבַת גִּבְעָתִי‎‎) functions as the amphibious force and is one of the infantry brigades in the Israel Defense Forces. Givati soldiers are designated by purple berets. The Brigade's symbol is the fox, alluding to Shualei Shimshon (שועלי שמשון, lit. Samson's Foxes), a unit in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. For further details see Brigade HQ Garrison at Mishmar Ha'Negev

Comments

  • Kziot Israeli Prison (formerly a military detention center but now under civilian prison authority control) lies approx 2km to the west. This is the desert training camp of the Givati Infantry Brigade instead. I will correct details accordingly.
  • My understanding is that this camp is, or certainly at one time in the recent past was, home to components of the above detailed IDF unit(s) - hence the open source information or detail about that unit, as relevant. If, however, you have more accurate or up-to-date information, then naturally please feel free to comment and/or edit in the interests of greater accuracy and the spirit of 'wiki'.
