Kilometre zero for Ukraine, called 'The Winged Globe', is located at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti ('Independence Square') in Kyiv.
Coordinates: 50.4501°N 30.5234°E.

'Km 0' in Kyiv is a center of all pointers of Ukraine.
Distances to all regional centers of Ukraine and capitals of other countries are marked under the stele.

The brief description on the sign is:
"This Distance Reference Sign fixes geographic coordinates and distances to the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regional centers of Ukraine, and capitals of other states.
Built in 1996 and reconstructed in 2001 (...).
Author of the idea: S. Skliarenko.
Architects: H. Kurovskyi, V. Pryimak, R. Kukharenko, L. Maly.
Sculptor M.Oliinyk."

Until 2001, there was a sculpture of Archangel Michael on this pedestal. Later it was presented to the city of Donetsk.
