Cape Town City Hall (Afrikaans Kaapstad Stadsaal) is a large Edwardian building in Cape Town city centre. It is located to the west of the Castle in front of a square used as a market and is built from honey-coloured oolitic limestone imported from Bath in England.

On February 11, 1990, only hours after his release from prison, Nelson Mandela made his first public speech after his release from the balcony of Cape Town City Hall.

  • . According to the Munich Orientation Convention www.volksnav.com/CapeTown, the logical address of the City Hall is: - StatusQuo(c) m11:5 r35 that means: - 35 x 100 meters from Devils peak (radius) - in direction m11 (horizon hour) (m12 = from Devils peak to north) and - 5 x 100 meters "later" than m11 (horizon minutes) Such codes will substitute postal codes, in harmony with maps and codes for crossings, stop points, bridges etc. .
