Birthplace of W C Handy, "Father of the Blues". The cabin is preserved and converted into a museum in his honor.
The original cabin dates to the 19th century and was relocated to the current site in 1968. Among the prized pieces is Handy's piano.
The City of Florence hosts an annual music festival each July, named the W C Handy Music Festival.
