Variance Government Square
The name was given 'Regentieplein' (Government Variance Square) to remind the Government Variance Council during the revolution of 1830 governed the country. Probably built shortly before 1860 as the centrepiece of the new district station, she was also named 'centrumplaats' (centre place), and in 1862 she officially became 'Regentieplein'.
