The school started functioning in 1915 as men’s gymnasium — the first and only in Alekseyevsky district.
From 1934 year the school was functioned as unified labor secondary school.
During the Great Patriotic War (1941 — 1945) 60 teachers and graduates of the school have not returned from the front. Three of them — Nicholay Ruban, Vasily Sobina and Matvey Shaposhnikov were awarded of the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
The math classes were created in school in 1950-s for the first time and operate until the present time.
Since 1967 year the school is located in newly-built model building.
In 2016 year the school building was refurnished.
Over the years 10 graduates of the school became doctors of science, 40 have protected master's theses, 280 graduates were awarded by gold and silver medals.
The Honored teachers of Russia worked in school: N. N. Zhuravlev, L. D. Korotaeva, M. G. Kolomytsky, N. V. Zagrebaylova.
The school museum operates and it was recognized as one of the best in the region. It was headed up to 2000 year by history teacher Yu.N. Golovanenko.
