Van Don is the Archipelago in East and North-East of Bai Tu Long Bay, that in East and South - East of Quang Ninh Province.It have about 600 Island . Bigest Island is Cái Bầu Island, it's Area about 1/2 of District's . Cai Bau Island's old Name is Kế Bào,in Nort-West of District Van Don and separated by Cửa Ông Rivulet and Voi Lớn River. In Vạn Yên Commune there is Chàng Ngo Island . Disstrict's Center is Cái Rồng Townlet, in Cái Bầu Island, from Hạ Long about of 50 km, and Cửa Ông of 7 km ( 334 road througt Vân Đồn Brigde and Tài Xá feery ). Line of Vân Hải Islands, (in egde South-East of Van Don District ), have islands: Trà Bàn, Cao Lô, Quan Lạn, Đông Chén, Thẻ Vàng, Ngọc Vừng, Cảnh Tước, … and another small Islands .They create a screen for Bái Tử Long bay.
