The Valga–Petseri railway section, completed in 1889 as part of the Riga–Pskov railway, passes through Husari. It was originally a stopover, which was still in Läsva Parish when it opened. In the mid-1920s, the name Jänesemäe was adopted, which comes from the name of the hill next to the railway, which passes through a deep mine. In the 1930s, the name of the station was changed back to Husari. In the mid-1980s, there were plans to build a railway station with a side road and a station building. Passenger trains stopped and ran through Husari on the Valga–Veski line until 2001. The railway is currently used to a limited extent. The original wooden one-story station building housed a postal agency from 1928. The building was demolished in the late 1970s. In the 1980s, in connection with the construction plan of the station, a silicate power centralization pole was added to serve as the station building. It stood unused on the north side of the railway for decades and was demolished in 2020.
