military, interesting place
According to witnesses who saw it first hand, the V2 rocket flew over in the summer of 1941 or 1942 in the afternoon.
The rocket flew over the trees quite low and it was losing its parts while shredding the trees. The rocket embedded itself in the sand and did not explode. Local people collected some of the sulphur that leaked through the rocket. The next day, the Germans arrived to clean the area and it took them two days to recover all the parts. Today the area is covered by a coniferous forest.
