KTLA tower (Los Angeles, California)

USA / California / West Hollywood / Los Angeles, California
 historic landmark, radio broadcasting tower

Originally constructed on this spot in 1925 (along with a twin at the other end of the colonnade), the two towers adorned the front of the lot and were the broadcast towers for radio station KFWB on the Warner Brother lot (the WB in KFWB does not stand for Warner Bros. as is commonly assumed, but was just a striking coincidence that the station was assigned those call letters).

This tower was moved to the far northeast corner of the lot in 1950 while its twin was demolished. In 1955 the tower was adorned with the KTLA Channel 5 logo and stood there for decades and could be seen by motorists from the Hollywood Freeway.

In 2016 it was returned to this spot to make way for the construction of the Icon production building.

This tower is an historical landmark, so can never be demolished.
