Monument in memory of Operation Amherst, the dropping of para's of the 2nd and 3rd regiment SAS on the 7th of April 1945. The intention of this operation was to clear the way for the Canadian troops who were advancing from the South. They liberated Camp Westerbork on the 12th of April and Assen on the 13th besides many more.
