From the XIIIth century, the city sheltered a Jewish community. At present, there are approximately 80 families in the region Vichy, Moulins and Montluçon. The synagogue, built in 1933 on a ground offered for a duration of 100 years by the Company Farmer was recently bought back thanks to the generosity of a regular customer. During the war from 1940 till 1945, the synagogue was never closed. Services are celebrated according to the Sephardic rite.
