For successful implementation of educational process the following departments are organized in the school: piano, Russian folk instruments, orchestral, vocal-choral, artistic, theatrical, theoretical, aesthetic.

Name of the School at the beginning — Alekseevskaya Children's Music School (order No.190 dated June 29,1960 by the Belgorod Regional Department of Culture). In 1981 Alekseevskaya Children's Musical School was renamed to Alekseevskaya school of Arts (order No. 124 dated August 23,1981 by the Belgorod Regional Department of Culture).

In 2014 the school was reorganized by affiliatiing:
— Children's Musical School in Ilovka village of Alekseyevsky district of Belgorod region;
— Children's Musical School in Sovetskoe village of Alekseyevsky district of Belgorod region;
— Children's Musical School in Shcherbakovo village of Alekseyevsky district of Belgorod region.
