Second World War 1939-1945, weather / meteorological station
This is the location of the last known surrender of armed German forces during WWII. This is the weather station of the German Operation Haudegen. Surrender occurred approximately on the 4th of September, 1945. Nearly four months after Germany's formal surrender on the 7th of May, 1945. The last weapon surrendered was a Luger pistol handed over by Wilhelm Dege to a Norwegian Captain.
