The Northern of two rail-to-ship terminals operated by CG Railway, the Mobile Terminal serves as a short-line intermodal terminal connecting the US and Mexican railway networks. From Mobile, two purpose-built vessels carry up to 113 rail cars to a matching facility in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico on a rotating schedule which offers sailings between the two ports every every four days. Transit time between the two ports averages three days depending on weather conditions.
