Bridge number 43 on the Macclesfield Canal. A road and roving or turnover bridge ( locally as a 'snake' bridge) where the towpath switches sides from the west bank (left) to the east (right). Built 1831, William Crosley, engineer. Roughly coursed and squared Kerridge stone built in 2 sections, with high road bridge, not accessible from tow path, and roving bridge carrying towpath across the canal built against its southern face with elliptical archway and semicircular in plan with gently graded ramp.
