Halmøya is a large isle located in Flatanger, located south of Halmøyråsa. Highest point is 173 m. The island is old church site, mentioned in written sources first time in 1468. Last church demolished in 1873, but the island was inhabited for around 1970 have been found traces of settlement since the Stone Age. Several caves is spread around Halmøya. The largest is Håkkahelleren; 32 m deep, 12 m wide and 6 m high.
