Also called Karai Swamp which was for a long time grassing land. Trees have now been planted at the swamp and the water level dwindled. The far left end of the swamp is Nakumu swamp which is claimed to be a tributary of Lake Naivasha. The area is still waterlogged despite the other part of the plain having dried up.
