Also known as Tell Raghliyah or Tell Raghlah, this archaeological site has yielded ancient Mesopotamian remains, including parts of a palace from the Akkadian period. It has been proposed as the site of the ancient Mesopotamian town of Kesh (not to be confused with Kish). The name Tell Wilayah is now applied to the much smaller mound to the north.
