Also known as Old Danville Grain Elevator or Danville Wharf. Opened 1914 for transfer of peanuts, grain, limestone, iron, and cotton from river boats to trains. Closed early 1940s due to completion of Kentucky Dam, which raised water levels to cover the bottom four floors. Originally a six-story structure, of which the lower three floors were open-air for unloading of cargo regardless of river level.
