Es Grau is also home to the well-known protected nature reserve of S’albufera where you will find a rich variety of bird life that’s ideal for bird watchers. The area is also good for country walks and sunset strolls especially around the lake thats in abundance of fish and crustaceans. The most common of which are mullet and eels. This small fishing resort has a friendly atmosphere, that’s ideal for children and those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. The Isla d'en Colon, the offshore island which has 2 beautiful beaches, can be reached in about 15 minutes by pedalo or kayak from the main beach in Es Grau.

Es Grau is a small resort but does have the basics including small supermarket and a small boutique near the waterfront will sell you very elegant jewellery, paintings, souvenirs and individually designed clothes and regalos. There are no banks in Es Grau, the nearest is in Menorca’s capital Mao.

There are three restaurants in Es Grau, Bar Es Grau, Bar Es Moll and Bar Ca N'Bernat. Ca N’Bernat is well known for its fish dishes as well as offering the famous Menorcan dish of Caldereta de Langosta (Lobster Soup). Towards the waterfront you will find a further restaurant with decking over the water and 3 bars.
