Rabiaa is a Subdistrict of Nineveh Governorate, nothern Iraq. The sudistrict is inhabited by Arabs, mainly of the Shammar tribe, and has a population of around 10,000 people. It is centered at Rabiaa city, wich holds a strategic border crossing with Syria, the most important border crossing in Mosul Governorate. This area is currently administered by the Kurdistan Regional Government and secured by the Peshmerga Forces.

Talks are ongoing between KRG leadership and Shammar tribal leaders to integrate Rabiaa into KRG.
The subdistrict has not received any budget from the Iraqi Government for years, and the KRG has provided services and security to its people. Most of the population was evacuated in 2014, before ISIS reached the area, and taken to Dohuk into safety. Since 2014, most of the people have already returned to their homes.
