This is Homer Lake, a man-made lake on the Salt Fork. It has great trails for dog walking, both along the river and around the lake. There are some relatively open areas of prairie type vegetation, as well as woods. There are some areas good for tracking practice too. Human swimming is not allowed, but it's great for dogs, especially in summer. In a cold winter the lake freezes over. Human activities include picnicking and fishing. It's pretty empty in early mornings on the weekends. Leashes recommended near park roads, but not enforced on trails. Lots of deer. Coyotes are present but rarely seen. Pick up your poop!
