Matghavank' (Armenian: Մատղավանք լեռ, Turkish: Medaveng dagi) is a mountain at the northern shore of lake Van. Altitude: 1822 meters above sealevel. Name of Matghavank means "Junior monastery" in Armenian language (named after Armenian monastic complex destroyed by local Kurds after the Armenian genocide). Name of Medaveng is Turkish transcription of Matghavang. Since the 1920 in Turkish Republic all Armenian toponyms of East Anatolia inherited since pre-genocide period being turikfied according to state sponsored programm.
