open-pit mine, gold mine

The deposits resource is 15.5 million ounces of gold and it is mined using conventional open pit mining methods. Highlights of the mining fleet included 25 haul trucks (CAT 795F - 320 tonnes), 2 electric cable shovels (48 m3), 3 electric-hydraulic shovels (28 m3), 10 drills and various other equipment to support the mining operation. The Pit Slope is 50° in the hangingwall (north
wall) and 48° in the footwall (south wall), and the incremental cost per bench is 0.024 $/t/bench. The final ramp was designed to a 35 meter width in order to support two-way uninterrupted haulage cycles using the expected truck widths.
