The Republic Square is a square in the parish of Cedofeita, city of Porto.
The initial name, "Santo Ovidio Square", was due to a chapel of St. Benedict and St. Ovid, that since the mid-seventeenth century, existed along the road from Braga. With the establishment of the Republic in Portugal in 1910, its name was changed to Republic Square.
