Notes: Lustron houses were prefabricated, enameled steel homes built in the period immediately following World War II. The concept was conceived in response to a housing shortage brought on by the return of American soldiers from the war. This is one of two Lustron homes remaining in Birmingham (the other is located two doors down at address 2420). A third home was demolished between 2001 and 2005.
