    EGA is a joint venture between Daimler Chrysler AG and Egyptian shareholders. Founded in 1996, its main activity is assembly of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. prodcution started in October 1997 with the E-class W210. Later in 1998, the C-class W202 joined. Now EGA is assembling the new C-class W204, the E-class W211 and the S-class V221. EGA also strated assembly of rear and front axles since 2001. In 2002, the component factory started manufacturing brake discs for the serial production. Later in the same year, few spare part models joined. Production capacity at that time was 120000 brake disc/year. By the end of 2003, production capacity increased to be 320000 BD/year. Now the brake disc line is working at itas full capacity. 96% of its production is exported to DC global logistics in Germany.
